Patagonia is a region of south America shared between Chile in the west and Argentina in the east. Chilean Patagonia is a labyrinth of fjords, inlets, twisting peninsulas, and islands. It contains the worlds second largest temperate rain forest blanketing the near impassable wall of the Andes. This feeds an extensive network of mountain lakes and rivers providing some of the worlds best fly fishing. Dense hardwood forests of beech, bamboo, and fern are home to abundant bird life and various game including deer. Glaciers and numerous waterfalls provide a wonderful backdrop for fly fishers.
Chile is one of south Americas greatest success stories currently enjoying an economic boom. A long narrow country running north to south along South Americas south western coast. Chile is approximately 2,700 miles long, but never wider than 260 miles wide. Chile is a democracy enjoying good airports and infrastructure, rich agricultural lands, friendly and law abiding population, and a 96% literacy rate.

"I fish a lot in Alaska and have caught rainbows bigger than in Chile, but never so many large fish so consistently. It's like I died and went to heaven every time I go there. Can I take up permanent residence there?" D.S. Anchorage, Alaska |
